인사동 문화지구 지구단위계획 지침의 적정성을 사례 분석한다.

This study is to review and analyze the guidelines of "District Unit Plan" through the planning procedure of the cultural district in Insa-dong. In order to preserve traditional and cultural attributes in the Insa-dong district from imprudent commercial development, the cultural district was declared and the guidelines were set in 2000. The study explores how pertinent the guidelines are related to development goals of the district, and how the guidelines provide the directions and possibly become a part of actual design and planning practice in the step of implementation.

Based on the analysis of existing conditions in the cultural district, conceivable discrepancies between some of aspects that may be brought on by the guidelines and maintaining characteristics of the cultural district are subsequently addressed.
