대전의 도시균형개발을 위한 신도시 관리와 토지이용 계획을 연구한다.

This paper reviews the new-town management plan based on urban balanced development in Daejeon city. It presents the way of management of the new-town area for fostering various urban functions. This study is composed of following four parts. In the first part, the spatial structure and landuse planning of Daejeon city are studied. In the second part, the background of development and relationship with downtown regeneration based on urban balanced development are reviewed. In the third part, the managing method for the new-town development regarding institution and policy are analyzed.

In conclusion, the considerable subject in the urban planning based on urban balanced development are studied and some lessons to the development directions for the newtown planning are suggested.
