초록
This study was started with the interest in the problems of inner city area, occurred with the growth of metropolitan in Korea. The terms of urban disease like evacuation, reverse-urbanization decline, degraded environment, are mentioned even in growing cities that still need the development of new towns. According to this, this study attempts to review the transitional process of inner city and research about the direction of revision to solve urban problems. The term, transitional process is used to mean the stages of change, stages of fluctuation which include all meanings of change and fluctuation meaning changing.
And the meaning of the term, revision includes redevelopment, rebuilding, improvement of inferior settlement and recovery of commercial area in inner city to solve problems of city. This study is constructed as follows to understand transition process of inner city and to find a new direction of city revision. The Chapter 1 is an introduction for the recognition of problem and bringing up a problem. The background, purpose, scope and method of the research were described. Terms used in this research and their concepts were defined concretely and the construction form of this research content was shown.
In chapter 2, preceding researches and existing theories related with this research are reviewed. The theories on transition and redevelopment of inner city are reviewed. The contents and causes of urban disease came from western phenomenon were observed to understand the cause of emerging need of urban revision and to make basic data for understanding urban problem and solving problems. And policies and regulations related with development, theories and researches related with urban revision were reviewed.
In chapter 3, the transition process of inner cities in Daejon which is the geographical range of this study, Daejon citys geographic and spatial change of form which was altered by urban planning projects for city development like city plan by Daejon city, and various kinds of city index like land use behavior and density are considered and analyzed to analyze the cause of urban problem occurred in inner city and the condition of urban revision. And the concrete realities and present conditions about Daejon inner city revision project carried on the basis of city index and general conditions of urban planning project were reviewed.
In chapter 4, theories with the view of strategic plan for urban revision were reviewed. These theories include strategic plan which utilize all available resources in city, sustainable development for the future which is frequently mentioned recently, and complexation development which is useful to understand the complex character of city. This will help to set the direction of urban revision. In chapter 5, a survey was carried out.
Its target includes members of city council and ward councils who effects directly in setting the direction of urban revision, establishing and carrying out plans, civil servants in the department of city and architecture of Daejon local government and the department of city development and housing in ward offices who has direct relation with city development and revision. By synthesizing and analyzing their thoughts and opinions, practical issues and problem solutions base on experts experiences were collected and possible alternative solutions were found among them.
In chapter 6, new direction of city revision was explored and proposing opinion was stated on the basis of theories and researches reviewed in the whole research process and various opinions revealed by introduced problems and collected opinions. In chapter 7, general conclusion of this study was described and incomplete problems of this study were summarized to be a reference for future studies. And references of this study, English abstract and questionnaires were attached
