초록
Jeonju Hanok Village began its traditional hanok preservation efforts in earnest after the area around Gyodong and Pungnammun was designated as a Hanok Preservation District in 1977. Although the designation was strengthened in 1986 as a Type-4 Scenic District, it was later lifted due to issues such as infringement on residents' property rights. In response, a district unit plan for the Traditional Culture Zone was first established in 2003 to guide mid-to-long-term regional development, with subsequent revisions made in 2006, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2017, 2019, and 2023.
This study aims to analyze how these changes in the district unit plan have influenced the spatial structure of Jeonju Hanok Village. While earlier plans mainly focused on stricter regulations, the 2023 revision introduced more flexible policies, such as diversifying permitted food items and relaxing building height restrictions. By examining changes in building height, land use, number of businesses, and business types, this research investigates the effects of policy transitions from regulatory to more permissive frameworks.
Focusing on the area covered by the district unit plan from 2003 to 2023, the study also considers the policy background behind these changes and offers predictions on future transformations and management strategies for the Hanok Village.
