청계천 복원을 도시개조사업으로 보고 공간문화의 변화를 논한다.

청계고가도로를 없애고 청계천을 되살리는 것은 박정희의 파괴적 개발로 짓뭉개진 서울의 역사와 자연을 되살리는 것이다. 그리고 그로부터 새로운 공간관과 공간문화가 싹트게 될 것이다.<br/> 새로운 공간문화가 우리에게 오직 절제와 보존만을 요청하는 것은 아니다. '생태적으로 지속가능한 발전'의 개념을 끌어들여서 말하자면, 우리는 '생태적으로 지속가능한 이용'의 길을 찾아야한다.<br/> 자연과 역사의 복원을 기준으로 청계천 되살리기를 추진하는 관점의 전환이 무엇보다 긴요하다. 청계천 되살리기는 대단히 복합적인 내용과 목적을 지닌 거대한 도시개조사업이다. 따라서 이에 걸맞는 시공간적 시야와 명확한 목표설정이 필요하다.<br/> This paper argues that the Chunggye Overpass should be removed in order to restore the Chunggye stream.
