In this study, land status data of the experimental area was acquired using drone surveying, and the positions of land boundary points were acquired using a laser module using the acquired land status data. The accuracy of the acquired positional information was verified, and a method of utilizing it for cadastral surveying was proposed. The experimental area for the study was selected as an urban-rural complex area with a high frequency of cadastral surveying at a scale of 1/1,200. In this study, DJI's Mavic3 Enterprise rotary-wing drone was used for the experiment.
Then, in order to mount a laser module on the bottom of the drone, a module 3D modeling drawing was created and then printed using a Stick 3D printer to produce a laser module. After installing ground control points and inspection points in the experimental area and obtaining results through GNSS surveying, drone photography and orthophotos were produced. Using the produced orthophotos, the land status boundary was extracted with the Landygo(educational) program. The land status boundary was extracted based on the criteria for classifying and setting the land's ground boundary.
After extracting the land status boundary, drone laser surveying was used in conjunction with this to examine the possibility of obtaining positional information of the current status boundary points, and points that could be clearly compared were selected (a total of 129 points) and drone laser surveying and GNSS observation were performed. As a result of accuracy analysis for 40 ground control points and inspection points, RMSE was calculated as X = ±0.005m, Y = ±0.005m, and the connection error was ±0.007m, which are very good.
As a result of accuracy analysis between 125 points of land status boundary points acquired from orthophotos and the results observed at the experimental site using GNSS for the actual same points, RMSE was calculated as X = ±0.03m, Y = ±0.03m, and the connection error was ±0.04m, which are very good. In this study, the accuracy of boundary point surveying using a drone laser module was analyzed for the same points used for accuracy analysis (a total of 125 points). As a result of analysis, RMSE was calculated as X = ±0.17m, Y = ±0.15m, and the connection error was ±0.22m.
These results meet the standard of ±0.24m in the graphical area scale of 1/1200, which is recognized as an achievement in the current law, the “Enforcement Regulations on Cadastral Surveying.” However, errors exceeding the allowable range occurred at some points due to shaking of the drone during hovering due to wind speed and conversion of longitude and latitude errors when entering waypoints. Therefore, it is judged that drones and laser modules can be used for cadastral surveying except for environmental conditions such as weather where the influence of wind is severe and drone operation is impossible.
Based on the experimental results, the study presented a method of utilizing drones and laser modules for casastral surveying.
